Career Advice: Career Choices

Choosing a Career - only YOU can decide

© Paym Bergson

Do you really want someone else to tell you what to do in your Career Choice? If so, why leave the job you are at now where the boss constantly tells you what to do?

I've been receiving many emails regarding career choices - and I wanted to ensure ALL readers understand the single, most important point to remember about Career Choices - that it is your choice! No one else can tell you what you will succeed in, or be good at, or enjoy working at. All assessments must be used as a GUIDE - and are based on the answers YOU gave at that time of assessment - which means it is often based on how you felt at that moment.

So, when I give advice, it often is not what you may be looking for. Many readers want an instant answer - "tell me what I should be working at, studying for, aiming for". I cannot. I can only guide you in YOUR search for the Career or path at that particular time of your life. And you will change that path, many times.

Yes, it would be easy for me to just say "go into that field". And it would be easy for you to get an answer from someone that says "you should do this but not that". But it would not be an honest reflection of what really is available for you, nor what you might succeed at.

There are no easy answers, as life rarely provides an easy path. But it can be a rewarding path IF you work towards your goals - and yep, that does mean setting your goals, actually taking time to figure out what you would like to pursue, and taking the initiative to go do that pursuit!

So what are you waiting for? Go do it!
