Searching For Work IS Full Time Work, Benis Arapovic, sarajevo, ba, Bosnia Herzegovina
In today's marketplace, it's tough to find a job that suits you - sometimes, it's even hard to just find a job. What can you do about this?

Finding a job sometimes is very hard. Follow these guidelines to help you get through the trying times.

Job Search Is A Full Time Job

You've heard this before, and you'll hear it again. Consider finding work to be your "full time job". Set aside a certain number of hours each day, five days a week, to finding a job. This includes searching the internet, writing out letters, revamping your resume, interviews, etc. You need to set up a routine, but be flexible enough to accommodate any potential contacts that come your way. People need structure in their lives - so set up your structure!

More importantly - get outside the home - even if it means having a coffee and hand writing out some notes at the coffee shop. Why? You need the fresh air and the fresh eyes. You need to see people; you need to network. Even if it is just the people at the local coffee shop, you'll find that being around people will help you feel better, and that will reflect in your writings and attitude.

Network, Network, Network

Prime real estate is location, job mantra is network. Not just who you know, but who you don't know - yet. Create Business Cards as described in this article. Now, drop them off with whomever you can. Those coffee shops and restaurants that say 'drop in a business card for a chance at a free lunch/coffee'? DO IT. People have to read those cards as they are pulled out - another networking chance to reach someone you didn't know.

If you can - place your card so that others can read it as they pass the bowl - obviously only if it is a transparent container.

Watch Your Health

Don't neglect yourself - this is the time to pay close attention to how you are doing - both physically, mentally and emotionally. If you had to drop your gym membership due to costs, take a walk around the block, or do whatever you can using home equipment. Walking/jogging/exercising at home is free - so there is no excuse NOT to do it. You'll feel more alert and alive.

Yes, watching your health also means watching what you eat. Self-indulging binges won't help you get a job, and will just make you feel worse about yourself. So eat healthy, and have your treats in moderation. Same for alcohol. You need to be ready to go at a moment's notice - you never really know when that contact will come through - so be prepared.

Money Running Out

If money is getting tight, consider taking on part time work, or even a night shift position. Bills don't care how you made the money or how they get paid,; just that they are paid. Check out Temporary Agencies as well - you might even get a contract in the area you want.

Most of all, keep a smile on your face! Happy, positive people generate happy, positive energy - and that will always help you find a job!
