Your Health and Your Career

How to Keep Both in Tone and in Tune

Do you spend as much time on your health as your Career? You should! Poor Health equals Poor Career.

Your health is just as important to you as your Career - or it should be. How you physically feel will reflect on how well you do in your career and at work. So take the time now to take care of yourself. Your body will thank you.

Mom was right - you need to eat healthy and exercise to feel good. This does NOT mean you need to diet and work out at the gym for hours and hours. It DOES mean you need to take stock of your eating habits and exercise (or lack of) routine. You need to find the right fit or pattern FOR YOU - the same as you are doing for your Career.

How do you find the right pattern - almost the same way as you found (or are finding) your Career - by assessment, research, and trial and error. As you exercise you'll find you'll eat more but not gain (and even lose) - and you'll feel better - not just physically but emotionally - as your endomorphins do their "stuff". Check your eating habits first - just try to add more fruit/veggies into your daily eating (careful on the fruit though - for many people fruit can act as sugar - so limit to a few a day) and just try to choose healthier alternatives - less fat at the fast food chains, or substitute a salad for those fries at least once a week. Check out the web for healthy eating choices.

Exercise is still the best way to feel great and look great. But you have to find the one that fits YOU! For me, running was the best in my younger days. My daughter keeps her gorgeous figure with kick-boxing (and actually, that's how she shaped it as well!). My son sculpts his developing muscles and keeps any potential love handles down with Tae Kwon Do.

As we age though, those high cardio high kicking routines may wear on the knees. I've had two knee surgeries and have developed early arthritis. Karate helped for awhile, but was still too knee-intensive. I did finally find one that has helped me lose inches as well as rehabilitate my arthritis - I'll list it at the bottom of this article for those interested. The point is I did the circuit of aerobic/cardio/weight lifting - until I found the one that will be part of my life forever.

As your Career is a lifestyle, so is your health. When I physically feel good, I tend to emotionally feel good too, and I close more contracts. So take care of yourself, to take care of your Career!

Note: I've been doing T-Tapp for a few months now, and have found a great improvement with my knees, arthritis, as well as loss of inches and tightening of my body! It's great for ALL body types, whether you are in great condition already or in dire need of help. If you do happen to try it, let me know your thoughts!
