Spend Time On Yourself

You're Worth It

What are you doing to help yourself? Do you take the time to ensure you are doing alright?

It is so important not to forget to take care of yourself - physically, emotionally and mentally - while on the ardious task of looking for work. Too often we forget to take time out for ourselves. Even surfing the internet for jobs means sittiing in front of the computer - and you need to get up and stretch your legs and back. You've heard that often enough, but do you DO it often enough?

Many people also get depressed when the job interviews start to dry up, and the prospects of getting a new job fast start to fade. The idea here is to ensure your mind is still sharp and you keep busy - BUT don't let the job search consume you! You need time away from work - which means you need time away from looking for a job.

Just taking a brisk walk around the block, or even to the closest coffee shop, will help you feel better - about yourself and the situation. Keeping in contact with people is also very important - looking for work can be a very lonely endeavour. You need to not just "see" other people (meaning walking around and you see others); you need to also have contact with other people. This does mean talking to contacts, friends, acquaintances - and it does NOT mean talking about work.

There's a whole world out there - be part of it, no matter what you are doing!
