The easiest thing to give but the hardest thing to take is advice. We are a nation of "want it now, but don't want to work for it" - and most people are always looking for the "easy way". Lists really do help us - they keep us organized. The mind really does want its information in "neat, little packets", and lists keep the mind happy!
The problem is, too many lists and the brain will reject all the information. So we need to pick and choose what we need, when we need it. Don't just take someone's word for it - what do YOU think about the information?
All advice columns are just that - giving you advice you may or may not take, or even want to hear. But when it comes to your Career and your Life (personal or otherwise), it's important to get as MUCH information as you can, then make an informed decision that suits YOU the best.
So, as you read any list, not just the one for this week's topic, decide which items on the list you already do follow, and which ones might help you if you actually follow it.
Above all, you need to be yourself, and to find a job that suits you as you are - not as you think you'd like to be. If you want to change, do it BEFORE that job interview (with education and self-improvement) - because no one will hire you if you are not right for that job, and you won't really be happy in a job you literally "acted" your way into. And yes, it IS okay to be YOU!
